Good OP. Thank you for posting the solution.
Although, you have broken tradition by not simply posting “never mind, I fixed it!”.
Thank you again for your work on this. I’d wager that a vast majority of Memmy users are grateful for what you are doing and understand that there are going to be issues as this app is being developed.
Unfortunately, the negative comments stand out more than the positive ones and they hurt more than the positive ones help. That is just how we humans tend to be wired. All I can say is “thanks” again and I appreciate all the unpaid work you have done for us. I try to report any issues I find and provide details to help you reproduce.
To all the understanding users out there, please try to do the same. In case this is helpful, here is a list of the things I do and try to provide when I report a bug:
-Make sure I’m updated to the latest release. When reporting, note the release version and my OS version.
-Try to figure out how to reproduce the issue. If you can, give step by step instructions on how to trigger the issue. If you can’t, try to provide any relevant details on when the issue tends to crop up.
-provide screenshots when helpful.
-if it isn’t 100% obvious based on the issue, explain why it’s a problem and what behavior you are expecting from the app.
Edit: also, try to reproduce the issue on accounts from more than one instance and, if relevant, see if the issue is actually occurring when using your account in a browser or other interface. Sometimes the issues we experience have nothing to do with Memmy. By reproducing on more than one instance, you are more likely to be reporting a Memmy issue rather than a localized problem outside of Memmy.
She said that eight cleaning crew members, two flight attendants, and the captain and co-captain watched as she tried to help her husband exit the plane.
At first I was going to say, “how as a human being do you stand there and watch this?” But i have to think that many of those people wanted to help but felt that they could not. Instead, I’ll ask: What kind of terrible, shithole, money grubbing, leach on society company must this be to have made all of those employees too scared to step forward?
Except the captain. That is your plane, you subhuman piece of shit. The company you work for may be the devil, but you let this happen while it was your responsibility to fix it. You watched it and did nothing.
I’m trying to focus this answer on something that seems like a really small change:
I wish everyone is slightly more empathetic.
I feel like this could give us a lot of small nudges toward being better people and a better society. I wonder if a small nudge could end up having a profound effect.
Now fixed in the latest ios update
On Wednesday, Apple released iOS 17.1. Among the various fixes was a patch for a vulnerability, tracked as CVE-2023-42846, which prevented the privacy feature from working. Tommy Mysk, one of the two security researchers Apple credited with discovering and reporting the vulnerability (Talal Haj Bakry was the other), told Ars that he tested all recent iOS releases and found the flaw dates back to version 14, released in September 2020.
That was quick. Thanks!
Sorry if it wasn’t clear; I’m not trying to criticize. I thought you would like to know these things. I didn’t see them noted in the release notes, so I assumed you weren’t aware.
Thank you for working on this great app! Unfortunately, it looks like 1.0 has some big wrinkles to iron out. Here is what I experienced:
I lost all my settings. I had to log back in, then try to put my settings back to how they were.
Many items in settings are non functional. Off the top of my head, most of the problems were on the link items under settings, such as all the stuff in “about”. Other settings I noticed aren’t working were Allow NSFW and Blur NSFW. These can no longer be toggled; both toggles immediately revert to off when you press them.
I can’t find a way to add a second account. If I hold down on my account icon at the bottom like I could do in 0.6.0, nothing comes up.
This was on 1.0(21). I reverted to 1.0(20) to see if things were working there. My login and settings I set in 1.0(21) stuck, but the other issues persisted. Reverting to 0.6.0(2) still functions, with my accounts still in place.
While I haven’t dug into anti-chest specifics, I’m pretty sure they all function this way. Not that I like it either, but if you don’t want games accessing this information, you’ll probably want to avoid games with anti-cheat.
Alarmed (iOS only, unfortunately). It allows you to set nagging reminders with notifications and has great features for snoozing a reminder or setting up routine reminders.
It’s great for ADHD. I basically use it for my schedule I’ll have it remind me the morning of something (or the day before depending on the event), when the reminder comes up, I’ll snooze it to to just before I have to leave.
I had been using apples “reminders”, which just seem to disappear into the ether if you happen to miss the notification.
@gabe@lemmyloves.art , question for you in the post body. I get the feeling mentions only work in comments.
I had used that one before but it seemed very slow to load images. I updated the post using postimg.cc
Ah. I take it that my image uploads are first hosted on lemm.ee, regardless of where I am posting. Is that correct? I had assumed that file upload restrictions would be based on the instance where the community is hosted, not based on which instance my account is on.
Thanks, Gabe!
Do you have a preferred image host? I had to compress the heck out of it to get it to post directly.
Cool! I’m not much of an artist, but I’m going to throw up some of my daughter’s work. She is amazing.
Works now. Thanks!
I have a global rule suggestion for you to consider: require any AI generated art to contain [AI] in the title or, (even better in my opinion), restrict AI content to AI specific communities.
Hi gabe, thanks for making this instance. I’m not an artist myself, but I’m subscribing to your communities. The sketchbooks community doesn’t seem to exist - or at least the link isn’t working for me. The rest are.
I just searched Amazon for “wire shelf connectors” and got lots of results. I’d check measurements, but here is one result that might work:
Dailydanny Wire Cube Plastic Connector 50Pcs Wire Grid Cube Organizer Connector for Modular Closet Storage Organizer and Wire Shelving (White) https://a.co/d/aQjeY8N
Thank you!
Out of curiosity, are the 19.0 federation issues actually solved with 19.1? Or are the issues just improved with further fixes in the works?
The story I seemed to be seeing was that 19.1 hadn’t actually fixed (but maybe improved?) federation issues and that another high-priority fix was coming.
