  • There's some irony in this. They're winning. They control the presidency and the Senate. Even if they didn't, the Dems would warm the seats for them until the next round. Biden will never get a second term! Who else mounts a good presidential campaign next round? Buttchug? The guy whose platform is playing nice with them? America distills terror and takes it abroad. Children in Syria, Afghanistan, Iran, NK, China, the entire South American continent are (likely but not unanimously) terrified of boots on the ground and coup attempts. The entire African continent is subjugated by American business interests.

Bernie Sanders wanted to SAVE THEM MONEY ON HEALTHCARE. There were probably like 13 or 14 insurance execs actually drinking the Kool aid. The rest were probably playing golf with petrified migrant eyeballs or something equally grotesque. He wanted to stop wars and preserve what's left of the environment. He was a sweet old man running for the highest office - hardly the cold-hearted revolutionary that Mao and Lenin embodied (sigh).

Sure, the libs are detestable TO US they're fighting for the same team as Fox News. The people who are in power have a faux opposition, they're subjugating foreigners on a scale that would make Ceaser blush, and they're still legitimately terrified.

EDIT: Even the fucking impeachment was a defanged charade designed to fail. What the fuck?!

  • 2020 is like when you have to go across the river to some weird, flirtatious girl's house to get a 4 talent loan at 50% interest every semester to afford tuition at the university, but you have to spend it on a lute but then, as you're trying to make a living by playing in front of a crowd, a rich nobleman's failson uses magic to split one of your strings so you have to finish your set with only 6 strings.

  • I was convinced that "what about white lives?!" people were being intentionally dense. I scoffed at people who tried to explain simply that white lives aren't under the same pressures as black ones.

These people really feel accosted by a slogan? What the fuck? They'd riot if McDonald's changed their slogan to "we're loving it". They'd probably have night terrors if the Washington football team changed their name to "the prides". What the fuck is wrong with them?

  • The people whose response to a pandemic was subsidising COBRA would 100% try that section 8 housing shit. Matt, on the podcast, shouting headlong into the ether over and over again how there was simply no pro-labor alternative to the status quo in power in the US. There was simply grotesque right-ward movement and more socially acceptable stalling.

  • For sure, I think doing something cool, good, difficult, or even doing unpopular work should come with perks. Maybe not dominion over enough wealth to dwarf a South American country, but there's no doubt society ought to value and thereby incentive certain behaviors. But nobody should ever have to fear automation will take away their meal ticket in my world. Nobody should feel obligated to get to work even though they have a fever because they're not well-staffed enough and they'd be evicted if they missed that day's pay.
