"White supremacy" and "settler supremacy" means nothing, until it is put into action. This is how it is done- through inflicting pain, humiliation, and suffering on the "ubtermensch."

This is how it was done in all western colonies; it is how it was done in the Anglo settler-states to the natives, and it was done to the enslaved blacks and their descendants, and even as society progressed such that the optics became worse (even among whites), these countless little cruelties and humiliations still remained, swept under the rug or downplayed, in order to assert their "place in the world" over that of their lessers.

This is still how it is, across the west and wherever westoid-mentality westerners plague.

On the other hand, there is a very clear and (IMO) undeniable grifting industry of "wokeness," which has appropriated the term (and maybe could be said to have predominantly usurped it) from its original contexts, to ply it for capital and virtue signalling (the liberal ie. capitalist equivalent of jerking themselves off to how great and enlightened they are- which naturally also then immediately gets used against all the "unwashed, colored, etc masses who are so barbaric and in need of western liberal civilization.")

Everyone can see this, one would have to be willfully ignorant not to see this. Western capital can congratulate themselves and flaunt how superior they are by making a play where historical slave owners and genocidaires are black and brown (how progressive!), turning a cartoon mermaid into a black woman (nothing wrong with that, but everyone knows the reboots suck- and no, global audiences having no interest does not mean they are somehow "racist"), or- as an example of the heights of barbarism they can utilize this for- bringing in the first black figurehead (POTUS) to destroy Africa's most developed country, destroy black wealth/homeownership, engage in countless war crimes against black and brown people, and "pivot to Asia" to attempt to destroy the brightest light of development and recovery of the non-white, colonized, exploited peoples. Hell, capitalist virtue signaling can even be used to (and is widely being used to) whitewash literal industrial genocide and a white (ethnically Jewish) supremacist, apartheid ethnostate, as in the case of Isntreal. It can be used to whitewash literal, genuine, goosestepping Nazis (not neo-Nazis, Nazis) like those in Ukraine.

The "sweet baby inc" debacle strikes me as pretty characteristic of this... "virtue industry" (which has no relation whatsoever to actual virtue and actually oftentimes contains an immense degree of deeply "unvirtuous" western chauvinism). For all that I've seen it strikes me as a issue of western faux-progressive liberal smuglords, trying to extort a dev from the other side of the world (China), failing, and crying about it to their fellow nepotists/western media circlejerkers that tout themselves as "journalism" (same as with world news journalism or any other kind of journalism- the west loves to get their nasty, grubby hands on it and claim to be the authority of all that is good and bad, true and untrue). And it strikes me also as western "journalism"- of which "gaming journalism/media" does not exist in some vacuum, or isolated from the collective west and western "journalistic" circles- collectively joining hands to shit on, falsify, slander, and wildly misrepresent the history and present reality of a Chinese gaming studio, as well as statements purportedly said (and mistranslated).

In the west, this is because the west has genuinely priced its working classes out of existence. One can call it "greedflation" (and sure, it primarily is), but it also is a symptom of an economic system which draws much of the wealth and labor of the globe into these overpriced imperial cores, devaluing and exploiting on an even greater level the lives of those elsewhere; a symptom of the broader picture of these imperial cores exporting their debt across the world and artificially maintaining their own currencies' value increasingly through threats and violence more than anything else; and of course, also a symptom of the neoliberal modern system wherein the former monopolies of production (mercantilism) have considerably shifted outside of the imperial cores, and what remains within is the typical "American-style" or late stage capitalism- bottom-line, shareholder-dominated, rentier capitalism, a sort of "slash and burn/disaster capitalism" that the classical liberals were explicitly against (but which Marxist analysis explains).

As for that, while I'd not quite call it "virtue signalling" (it's little different, but the intent is genuine), the simple fact is that it won't change the system, hell, it won't even band-aid the system. And so long as all the levers of the imperialist world system or even domestic finance remain under capital's control, it is- less effective even, than trying to swim up a waterfall.

I'm not saying that there can't be some tiny good done, for some individual lives. Just like any (genuine) charity or outreach that much is true. But end of the day it all can be undone (and will constantly be stuck trying to swim up the waterfall- predictably, at the bottom of the waterfall), when the system is utterly and overwhelmingly in the hands of the capitalists. Whether it be through taxation, inflation, all the countless forms of rent and interest charged within capitalist society, through their dominance over the political processes (regulatory capture, corporate welfare, etc- the list goes on) you will not even make a dent within the system this way.

True. And personally- even as someone who's trans- the honest truth is I fully agree with them in that regard. Every culture has its own hurdles, and pretty much every culture has also been affected negatively, intentionally, by the west either backing the most reactionary tendencies for their own purposes, or other times using maligned groups' real issues as a wedge to creep their influence into (which isn't to the benefit of anyone locally), or promoting their worldview that "progress equals westernization."

The western "'freedom' and 'democracy'" mentality is, as you noted, no different from their crusader/conquistador/"white man's burden"/cultural Darwinism ideologies of the past. The entire world, if left to develop without marauding bands of western barbarians (whose imperialist culture is the actual culprit incompatible with progress or coexistence) would trend towards the right direction- in fact much of the world would have not been so heavily scarred with the ideological plagues like Wahhabism, white supremacism, evangelicalism and Christianity-influenced homophobia/transphobia/etc to begin with, that the west has weaponized and continues to weaponize to this day.

Yeah. Honestly I actually would normally like wearing the mask (I like hiding my face, admittedly). But the social climate of covid (and that has continued ever since) was honestly incredibly... alienating and strenuous, as an Asian-Canadian.

If people want to forget it some- at least socially it's a plus for my personal experience, even if it's a bad thing otherwise. It's shitty, and I feel bad for any decent Russians out there having to deal with this nonsense. It's also not something justifiable. But as I see it it's also a fraying of the contradictions (albeit from a different side) of imperialism- they can't have their "faux-progressive, 'totally not racist/imperialist,' purportedly 'virtuous and enlightened'" high horse without alienating their traditional pillars of support (racist, bigoted, murderous white supremacism). And for that matter they can't deliver anything meaningful to their pretensions at decency, when their system is predicated on basically all the evils, exploitation, and bigotry in the world. At the end they'll lose everything and no one (who matters, anyways) will miss them.
