Does explains his weird obsession to be the guy establishing life on Mars
I have edited the comment above. I had made an error while typing. Please check if that changes anything
Maybe you can try logging in before changing the file. Then quit steam, change the file and restart your steam system and then try to open steam. This was the exact process I followed and it worked.
Edit : the change to the .desktop file is not applied until you reboot your system.
The line you are changing is the right one. Change the PrefersNonDefaultGPU option from true to false
https://lemmy.one/post/151466. Refer to this for the location of the file. This is for the native .deb package
This is an issue/bug with steam trying to open with the dGPU. In the steam.desktop file, change the PrefersDedicatedGPU (might not be exactly worded like this) parameter from true to false. Though after using this, you might have to use the DRI_PRIME=1 with your games to make them use the dGPU
Edit : credit for this goes to a kind gentleman who helped with the issue 2 months ago when the new steam UI dropped.
The main thing is to game at lower resolution and quality settings as much as possible while keeping . Somebody also suggested gamemoderun and that can help. My laptop with a GeForce 930m can barely run CS GO at 50fps at 720p low settings and the GT 730 is even weaker so keeping realistic expectations will also help you be happier with the performance you have
Thank you. Forget to type that out when I was writing the comment.
Riddle me this - Some people's argument against using telegram is that it is not as secure as WhatsApp(which on face value is true because WhatsApp is E2E encrypted while telegram is not E2E encrypted). Other people claim that only hackers and terrorists use telegram and that is why they don't use telegram. My question is why are people like hackers and terrorists using telegram in the first place if it has worse security while having no upsides for these kinds of individuals.
I don't see any universe where Aston finish 2nd in the constructors championship with the pace that their car has right now
We should be patient. Maybe the developer is busy and hasn't had much free time to work on this. In any case we should be patient and help out the dev with code or with donations which will help with the costs of hosting (I think this is the right word) the app.
This is the same reason why I don't use opensuse or fedora. Tried it out on an older machine and the dependency issues due to using packman/rpmfusion packages for media codecs really bugged me. Which is a shame considering how good the rest of the experience using opensuse is.
Also I have endeavourOS setup to my liking on my current device and I do not want to go through all that again.

this may not be what you have in mind when you said no but this does offer some level of customization of the install. Yes arch is much more configurable during install though
Doesn't endeavourOS give an option to select(or unselect) packages which are to be installed
Is there any noticeable difference between endeavourOS and arch after install¿? From what I have heard and in my limited time using arch or endeavourOS, post install, things seem more or less the same.
If you want something user friendly and something with good gui support, why not try out fedora or opensuse tumbleweed
Any idea how long it will be until TW gets tlp 1.6
