omg yes 😭 i had this and america the book gifted to me by ppl, i even got a gift of a shirt with this guy's face on it that i now only wear when i have to do laundry xD i was super into the whole colbert/daily show thing in high school before colbert got his new show, which is when i started moving left too

I was an Obama lib as a kid (I had his inauguration speech on my wall in elementary school, cringe ik), but of course not a serious one since I thought Obama stood for good things and I didn't really understand politics. Then as I got older I started getting into stuff like Jon Stewart/TYT and was essentially a socdem but I felt like something was a little off about TYT's politics that I couldn't really place, until Bernie's two runs, Michael Brooks' show, and my YDSA all solidly pushed me to the left :) I am still reading, figuring out my tendencies and stuff, but think it's safe to say I probably am not an anarchist.

trapped in my childhood home after graduating college, which i'm not really happy about, parents are controlling and don't want me to leave "until covid is done", obviously i disagree but also can't find a job rn after going to a Good School and Trying Hard and i feel like a failure. it's not the worst it could be, but i'm not happy

yup...they're what's getting me through literally feeling insane during covid
