Nah phenom is actually kinda cool. It's about recognizing that individuals all have unique experiences and viewpoints, and that our conceptions of the world are informed by out material context, but not exact representations of it. I took a class in phenomonology where I wrote alot about anxiety and masking associated with being queer. It has some good analytical tools, and is useful to developing leftist critiques of society.
Ngl I love kenji in his recent videos where he shows off what he makes for family dinners. He just shows how he does things and tells the audience to do what they want and cook to there tastes. Also, like you said, his food is good enough that he at least earned a little bit of smugness here and there.

Jacques probably has bad politics cause he's old and French, but he shows so much love for the culture and art of food. Not just the high end restaurants either, every thing he talks about shows deep respect for common communities and there customs.
