  • I think that it probably won't happen this time, but the next big fuckup that Musk or Twitter have will be like, the thing that will push a critical mass of people somewhere else to make it active enough to be useable. But it won't be that everyone goes and joins the new site. I think that right wing people and commentators will stay on Twitter, but leftish people will leave for bluesky or whatever.

  • I was on r/neoliberal to see what their response to Kamala losing was and, holy shit, those liberals are scratched.

They're talking about gutting unions because union voters didn't turn out for Kamala, basically celebrating the destruction of Gaza, talking about dropping support for trans rights to "broaden their appeal" (to the point that one of the mods had to make a pinned post about transphobia) and I've seen several super racist comments about latino and black folks.

I think they're taking this so hard because the Democratic party under Biden/Harris was the party they wanted. Two points I see repeated over and over are "Biden had a perfect presidency" lenin-dont-laugh and "Kamala ran a perfect campaign" lenin-dont-laugh. And they just saw the "perfect campaign" lose the fucking popular vote to President Hamburglar

  • There was a candle factory in Mayfield, KY that was hit by a tornado a few years ago. Management had made the production workers stay during the storm, threatening them with being fired if they left.

The factory, a building of corrugated sheet metal, was destroyed by the tornado. Several workers were killed. The rest were fired.

I hope that no one in Florida sticks around for some shitty job until the hurricane hits.
