Moving some packages (especially libraries) onto an unstable branch while keeping others back on a stable one. It probably won't fuck you immediately, but when it does it'll be a bastard to diagnose because you will have forgotten what you did.

It really depends on what you're most comfortable with; when you go for such a custom option most of the design decisions are about personal preferences.
I suggest you draw out some layouts on a piece of paper, adjust them until you feel happy and then plan out how you want the keymap to look. When you're happy, look for a layout that fits what you want or build your own on KiCAD.
I bought a kyria from Splitkb, and I've been very happy with the design. If I needed another keyboard, it would probably be a very similar layout, but have slightly fewer keys, be low-profile and no oleds.
I use PiHole+Unbound in a podman quadlet, and give it its own macvlan. Works great for me.
While I do agree these people exist, most people are some mixture of benefiting from, and being harmed by the status quo. To erode support for a mode of production takes both fighting those who are directly against your class interests, and convincing the majority of people that their class interests align with your actions. Often those who feel the most precarity under the current system are it's most ardent defenders, simply because their afraid of loosing what little status they have eked out for themselves.
Corbyn was sabotaged both by people who rightly saw him as a threat, and by those who didn't see the benefit he could bring them.
A mixed system which starts with changing the most socially egregious examples is probably the only politically viable transition; lots of people fear disruption, and it takes time and proving to them that the changes are beneficial.
I'd suggest beginning with something like Corbyn's Labor had proposed; if a capitalist business is sold or fails, the workers are given first right of refusal and a govt loan is given for them to purchase as a worker cooperative.
I've seen some optometry equipment running RHEL
About a year ago I moved to Hyprland & Wayfire for my NVIDIA & Intel boxes. Moved NVIDIA to Radeon a few months back and had mixed results.
Recently tried Plasma 6 for experimental HDR and am impressed.
Most firewalls are at their safest when you first get them i.e by default they block everything coming in. As you start doing port forwarding and the like you start making the network selectively less secure; that's when you have to pay attention.
I had an EdgeRouter X for years before I started my job. They are solid devices, and I'd definitely put them above most consumer routers.
Because they only charge for the hardware, they will eventually run into the same disincentive to provide consistent timely updates. If you do buy an Ubiquiti or similar enthusiast brand, do still keep an eye out for the CVEs that don't get patched.
I build Linux routers for my day job. Some advice:
your firewall should be an appliance first and foremost; you apply appropriate settings and then other than periodic updates, you should leave it TF alone. If your firewall is on a machine that you regularly modify, you will one day change your firewall settings unknowingly. Put all your other devices behind said firewall appliance. A physical device is best, since correctly forwarding everything to your firewall comes under the "will one day unknowingly modify" category.
use open source firewall & routing software such as OpenWRT and PFSense. Any commercial router that keeps up to date and patches security vulnerabilities, you cannot afford.

Blaming the creation of a new law on anybody except the lawmakers is a pretty shit take, but blaming it on 150 year old colonialism is actually infantilistic.
Any government which makes caffeine illegal must be prepared to enforce that law with mass violence, or let it be ignored.
Given how unlikely your average cop is going to enforce a law they regularly brea... Oh, nevermind. Yeah it'd be a shit show. Demonstrations, arrests, black markets, the whole nine yards.
Yeah, in Australia we don't have fixed rate mortgages for more than a few years.
I was. I was making 100k AUD, able to support another through University and easily pay my relatively small mortgage.
With interest rates gone up, I'm paying 50% more for the mortgage, and bigger increase than that on food, gas, electricity, rates and hot water. We are on the edge of comfortable, though our budget still has a little fat we can trim. I don't like the effective pay decrease I've had this last while, so no; I would be happy going back to two years ago levels of comfort.
I'm thinking more of the opposite; mainboard does/needs replacing and you can get a new one and not change the GPU
Not necessarily, plenty of good programs written in C89 for example.
With something that is heavily library dependent, having a more recent development stack may mean better maintained libraries but definitely not a sure thing.
I started using Linux maybe 5 years ago, just before DXVK and proton became a thing. The difference between now and then for gaming is night and day.
If it's on steam, there is a pretty good chance it'll work. If it's not on steam, it still might work through lutris.
There are some holdouts like Riot games, but I haven't owned windows in almost two years.
Timberborn was worth buying when they came out in alpha, and have made so much progress since. Super fun game still undergoing frequent solid feature updates.
Man if I was concerned about sinking the time to make a configuration for the compositor with a bus factor of 1 man-child, and a toxic community; I can't imagine anybody investing the time to make a compositor is going to want to hitch themselves to that cart.
The compositor is really solid and makes for a great user experience but I'll be fucked if every word vaxry writes doesn't make me want to move to sway or niri.
