  • Rep. Dawn Gillman, R-Dassel, shot to prominence when she raised over $500,000 for a nonprofit called Let Them Play MN, which sued Gov. Tim Walz twice in an effort to keep high school athletes on the field, court and rink during a pandemic shutdown.

Republican raised half a million for a dumb "non-profit."

The nonprofit, however, has never filed IRS tax forms — known as 990s — and other required financial documents showing how it spent its donations. Let Them Play MN had its tax exempt status revoked by the IRS earlier this year for failing to file financial documents for three consecutive years. The federal government requires all tax exempt, nonprofit organizations to annually submit 990s and other filings for transparency and accountability, as they detail how nonprofits pay their employees and use donations to fulfill their stated mission. Without the documents, it’s unclear how Let Them Play MN spent its purported $500,000 in donations.

(bolding by me) So she got half a million, thought she'd just do her own thing, and didn't realize it would catch up with her?

  • Supporters and city officials say Summit Avenue — both the roadway itself, and the infrastructure underneath — is long overdue to be torn up and replaced. That rebuild, officials say, presents a golden opportunity to remake the boulevard to be more inviting to pedestrians and bicyclists.

But critics fear the bike lanes installation would force the city to remove too many trees, jeopardizing the canopy along the route. An organized opposition campaign has even sprung up; “Save Our Street” has raised nearly $30,000 and enlisted an attorney to thwart the plan.

Critics are using "tree loss" as a cover for "we don't like change and we're worried our property value will decrease."

We need more pedestrian and cycling infrastructure.

  • Carrots keep better than leafy greens, buy carrots. Tortillas keep better than bread, and they take up less space, but I recognize you don't need that.

    • Carrot and hummus wrap
    • Carrots dipped in: hummus, other bean dip, or peanut butter.
    • Carrots and rice with a sauce on it. (this might be the most involved)

Additionally, if you're able: carrots can be grown with little effort. But you need the space.

Oatmeal is good and cheap. I agree apples or pears would be good with it. Try to get just whatever fruit or nuts are on sale for that.

Annie's makes a good vegan Mac and cheese.
