Can you say where and when this happened without doxxing yourself? Was anyone else around while he and his wife were doing this?
I'm so tired.

You know, I thought that moving sneerclub onto lemmy meant we probably would not get that familiar mix of rationalists, heterodox rationalists, and just-left-but-still-mired-in-the-mindset ex-rationalists that swing by and want to quiz sneerclub. Maybe we're just that irresistible.
Through nootropics, they're capable of making 1000 internet arguments per second and they're all wrong
“Eliezer has sometimes made statements that are much stronger than necessary for his larger point, and those statements turn out to be false upon close examination” is something I already generically believe, e.g. see here.
I get the impression that this guy (whose job at an AGI thinkpiece institute founded by a cryptobillionaire depends on believing this) would say this about ALL of EYs statements, leaving his larger point floating in the air, "supported" by whatever EY statements you aren't currently looking at.
something about federation seems to be driving engagement in a much more positive direction than Reddit ever did
Probably a lot of equalizing being done by drivers-by browsing "all". Techtakes and sneerclub could still shake out back to the old ratios if/when things calm down and "all" gets captured by less niche subs. Or maybe not.
I strongly predict that a decent chunk of the high-contributing users who LW has already lost would've been less likely to leave and would be more likely to return with marginal movement in that direction [deciding to do exactly what I wanted].
"I have to stress that the people who are not here to speak for themselves (top people, mind you) are right here with me. They're just out of frame, agreeing with me."
"The West has far too much freedom and needs to give people the option to voluntarily constrain themselves: in food, in sex, in religion and in the computational inputs they accept."
Incoherent gibberish, too dumb to realize how mask off he is.
Since the update to "UI: 0.19.0 BE: 0.19.1-rc.1", pagination for comments seems to be broken? or disabled? @sunaurus@lemm.ee, do you know if this is a lemm.ee thing or a lemmy thing? I don't see other people mentioning this when I looked for an issue.
What I mean: go to https://lemm.ee/c/meta?dataType=Comment&sort=New, and scroll to the bottom. The "Next" button is disabled (and if you edit the html to enable it, pressing it does nothing).
