I wanted to be a nun, and for some reason I thought ALL nuns took a vow of silence, so I would practice by sitting on a cushion with a towel draped over my head as a habit and just be completely quiet. I stopped being catholic a long time ago but I think the monastic life would still make a solid retirement plan.
