  • Down here in the SE corner, our closest TV stations are KYOU out of Ottumwa and KTVO out of Kirksville. KTVO is Sinclair-owned and has the production quality of a junior high AV club. KYOU is marginally better. But it's all we got, so meh.

Paper-wise, the Ottumwa Courier is decent. Not a lot of content though. They have a hard time getting reporters to stick around.

I used to read the DSM Register, but it seems like it's more of a Des Moines local anymore. Not a lot from around the state. (Which, it's a paper in Des Moines, that would make sense.)

I pretty much just read the local weekly and browse around otherwise. Not much I want to keep up on. I want to be completely oblivious and in the sticks.

  • Microsoft: "Please use Edge!"

    Me: "No thanks!"

Microsoft, 6 months later: "Please use Edge!"

    Me: "No, thanks."

Microsoft, when I visit Bing: "Please use Edge."

    Me: "No. Thanks."

Microsoft, when I open Outlook: "We will be opening links in Edge instead of your default browser. To switch back, go to your preferences."

Me: "Motherfucker, I think we have a difference in viewpoints."

  • Thanks for the info! I'll be sure to check those out. There's no bears around here, I think the biggest predators are coyotes or humans. I like that "bag-in-lieu" idea, my first thought was "Man I bet my sleeping bag would fit there just perfect."

I tend to go "cheap" and replace often, but if it's a good pack, I don't mind buying it once.
