  • Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica is absolute best.

Spice and Wolf, No game no life, Baccano, Chihayafuru, Amagi Briliant Park, Ore Monogatari, or even Kakegurui, Black Lagoon, Jormungand, Gurren Lagann for series.

Ghost in the Shell for movies (Madoka also is in a movie form). I haven't seen many movies, Spirited Away was OK, but not really for me.

I used to like Bakemonogatari, but after the years I'm not sure I would enjoy anything after Senjougahara's arc. Angel Beats was also fun, but in a silly way. Aho girl is pure silliness.

  • Also, bit part of Portage (Gentoo "emerge") is being able to 'flag out' parts of the package out (or in) to the compilation.

Let's say you want to not have telemetry in your packages. So you set '-telemetry' globally, and each package that has known telemetry parts will not compile locally - so it can not be turned on (unless it's hidden really well).

Or you want to use pulseaudio? You can flag it globally, or for specific packages. That way you can influence software you install without knowing much about anything build-related - the work is done by the repository maintainers.

They won't be able to pry Gentoo from my cold dead hands. Arch, Nix/Guix can suck it, all my money goes to the Gentoo

  • You need VPN to hide your traffic from your internet provider, your OS will not help with that. Use Mullvad, nothing else.

If you want more secure OS, that will respect your privacy, your only options are Linux or BSD. If you only have experience with Windows, go with Linux Mint. Keep in mind that it is a fork of Ubuntu, so guides and packages for Ubuntu will work for Mint almost always.

Mint is more suited for newcomers.
