    I think you're forgetting the fact that fighting games are always gonna require new players to get their ass beat for a while, you can mitigate some of it, but autocombos or new mechanics or controls don't change that fact. If you give a tool to put people on a more even playing field, people who practice are gonna use it better. If you suck at a game you're gonna get punished for whiffing autocombos, or spamming one move on your simple controls. Like, people will either like fighting games and get better or they won't. You know what gets people to try and even maybe swap to normal controls? Giving them a way to try to play for a bit. I genuinely don't think this affects skill needed in any significant way.

    I think this just comes down to giving new tools and ideas to add to what people can do, rather than make high end players worse. The skill ceiling is still high, the floor has been raised though and people can try to play more now.

    Also people are literally saying in this thread that they got to try street fighter because of the new controls lol
