  • I was using UEFI I think? I used Rufus to make the bootable flash drive and it just gave me either MBR or GPT, when I selected GPT it showed me the UEFI option to the right (iirc). I spent all day seeing these comments and at the end of the day I had to delete everything in my hard drives and start over again...

It's weird, but I had Fedora installed on my secondary SSD. Apparently when I did a clean Windows install, it installed in the primary SSD but took a part of Fedora on the secondary SSD as a Windows EFI partition. Then, when I installed EOS I selected "erase the disk" for the secondary SSD. I think it erased that EFI partition and I couldn't go back to windows, but since the primary SSD still had my files I could still see them. To be honest, something like that never happened before so I'm not even sure of what I'm saying.

  • It's probably not as bad as some of the comments I'm reading here, but it was about Demon Salyer. I met my wife's little cousin (she is 12yo) about a month ago, and she was talking about anime (Demon Slayer, in this case) and she asked me who my favorite character was.

I had finished the manga, so I told her that I didn't have any because none of them really spoke to me and asked her what was her favorite. She said it was Shinobu because it was "her comfort character" (I had no clue what that meant at that moment), and not having thought about the fact that not everyone read the manga, I immediately said that:

    spoiler

she was cool but it was a shame that she died a gruesome and slow death

I realized my fuck up when she started just tearing up, didn't know what to do so I said I was really sorry and left.

Honestly, I use FF as my primary on Linux, and Waterfox as my primary on Windows (just because it runs better than FF on Windows fir some reason). Vivaldi I use as a secibdary browser when:

    1. I need to visist a website that for some stupid reason doesn't open on FF
    2. When I'm studying or need to have several tabs open at the same time (by several I mean 100+, Vivaldi has really good tab management)

EDIT: I sent the reply without answering the question, I'm dumb. Anyways, some people like Vivaldi, some don't. If you ask in a Privacy forum (and especially Lemmy) you will find less favorable opinions of Vivaldi.

My suggestion at the end of the day is just try it out and try to make your own research on how it was created and who is in charge. As I've undestood until now (don't know if it has changed) is that the only thing proprietary about Vivaldi is the design(? Idk, someone correct me if I'm wrong) and that the CEO is not an.asshole (yet)

  • I worked at a pizza place for 3 years and couldn't last 4 months in a Ralph Lauren store.

Worse thing I remember is a guy completely out of his mind and SCREAMING at me because, his words: "how is it possible that I can't try these underwears in the fitting rooms?!!??!"

He reported me to my manager when I said he just can't due to sanitary reasons, then told me "at least you could have one pair of underwear on some sort of hanger so people can try it and it's not unsanitary because it's just one pair and nothing can spread"

Never again I will work in retail.

  • That's weird, I use Waterfox and I occasionally get to do some kind of "puzzle", but other times I just need to click the reCaptcha and it will confirm itself (with the green check)

Ironically, when I use Vivaldi, the captcha doesn't even load, and when it loads, it says it's wrong regardless of the answer I give it, so I'm always locked and that's quite literally the only reason I stopped using Vivaldi.

On Edge I need to fill in puzzles ALL THE TIME, that's also why I stopped using Edge (apart from the bloatware and the uBlock not working there)

  • This is probably NSFW so... warning(?)

I was going to reserve dinner at a place for our 7th anniversary of our marriage. My phone ran out of battery, so she told me to use hers.

While I was using it she received a message saying "tomorrow again? 😏". Curiosity killed me, I opened the message because, as far as I knew, she stayed home while I was working the day before.

To my surprise, the guy that texted her sent her a video of her on all fours with 2 men cuming on her. Needless to say, there was no 7th anniversary dinner. This was also years ago so I got over it.

I could have said "she cheated on me" and leave it at that but I feel like the whole story is spicier.
