they, for better and worse, act incredibly narcissistically
I think the whole "cult of personality" thing feeds into it. Coming back after years and being made an admin immediately while being lauded as our Stalin and all that, I don't think it helped. And she wasn't in anyway ready to handle that struggle session either, let's just say mistakes were made.
I'm gonna look into it and see if there's a way to do this with Lemmy currently!
I think it'd be a good feature to have but idk if lemmy's devs would rather have bots do it instead, someone could open an issue and see what they think.
A bot could be made to do this if someone develops it. Unfortunately I don't know how to make one.
If the mod/admin team thinks it's a good idea, make a post about it and maybe someone will step up and make the bot.
I know I keep saying someone should do this and that but I have no idea how to make a bot and I don't have a github account.
I was just suggesting sending automated welcome messages to new users to try to onboard them.
An automated welcome message sent to their inbox to try to onboard them could be nice.

Mind sharing some of these bookmarks with us?
Someone should make a feature request on lemmy's github

Sneaky tankies.
As the one true leftist I unfortunately have to intervene Yall need to stop posting!
Upvote if you agree that I am the one true leftist and should be the only one posting
Edit: Seriously though, I agree with @Awoo that we should try to post less and let things cool down a bit
Counterpropaganda posts cutting apart shitty Op-eds, MIC insider articles, journalistic stories, etc. are celebrated and encouraged, and will be separated from the shitpostier/chattier nature of the gossip community.
I think maybe admins/mods should post in c/commrequest first to see if there are people interested in/willing to contribute to a comm before making it.
Edit: this is not about counterpropaganda per se, just a general thought.
No need for temp bans when mods can instead just advise a user to take some time off
We have all seen those toxic and reactionary opinions 200 million times, ultimately it is just getting really mad at other powerless people.
I, for one, am not on twitter and all that so the_d*nk_tank posts provide some insight into the kind of batshit crazy views and opinions being propagated.
Another comrade posted the text here.
Maybe some s see this and realize... realize absolutely nothing who am I kidding
