    Excellent idea. I have a small additional suggestion. If implemented that way, any raiders that get access to posting privilege could mess up the system and invite their friends that could in turn invite their own friends. This would mess up the whole thing. This type of attack is called a Sybil attack.

    So what I propose is that additionally, those upvotes should be given by users who are far enough away in the relationship graph of upvotes. That is, in ordered to be invited, you will need upvotes from a diverse bunch of peeps: old users, new users, maybe even mods ?
