Hey everyone I am creating a temporary containment thread for all posts related to the WB video game releasing this week.

All posts after this one will be removed, consider donating to aid groups for the earthquake.

Here is a pretty exhaustive list that hasn't really been researched in depth or vetted, please let me know if there are any terrible links and I'll remove them

Can you imagine these leftists who argue for this game actually trying to organize? Someone whose reaction to this is "Uh actually it's a consumer boycott and therefore not effective🤓" must be just incapable of solidarity of any kind. Genuinely, unironically doing the "there are starving people in Africa" argument at trans people asking for recognition. Absolutely 0 self-awareness.

At no point did anyone on the left call it a boycott. At no point was anyone seriously trying to boycott the game but instead to simply tell people they're being dicks to trans people if they pay for the terf game.

Boycott was a word given to it by the right, probably thought up by some pretty good strategists who knew full well that it could convince some leftists and libs to play it because "boycotts don't work".

I can't wait to until these leftists find out what happens to actual effective leftists movements hand wringing about something easy and safe while all the time insisting that they really want to do what is necessary to get organized state violence at their door.

That's kind of been my take away. Like oh, that's why there was no response at all to Roe. People consider missing an episode of TV too much of an imposition to even consider political action.
