All my conservative friends went to go watch Barbie and Oppenheimer

this has to be made up. I don't know anybody who gives a shit about these movies or will see them, regardless of politics. I don't even know anybody who's mad about them.

I've had friends say they want to see Oppenheimer because it's "the next American Sniper". They meant this in a positive way. 💀

I mean, I don't know if Oppenheimer is full of lies and bad dummy work, but big if true

I constantly mix up American Sniper and Shooter and it has caused me problems on more than one occasion

Blue curtain thinking is a fuck. debord-tired

Disclaimer: Nolan's basically a diet chud, so it's not like there was that much said against chud ideology in the Great Killy Man Feel Sad film.

You can't deny the numbers though, maybe its just you and you're lucky with your acquaintances but this is literally like saying "yeah the latest capeshit made 1 billion and I don't know anyone who watched it or wants to watch it". I mean, come on now.

Also in the current state hollywood commentary is right now I think it is an extremely safe bet that if there was actualy any indication that either of those movies flopped the media would run with this for all the rage clickbait from pretty much every side.

Maybe I'm weird OK on reflection I'm definitely a weird dude but "giving a shit about movies" is not something anybody I know does. Even going to movies regularly is like, a thing you do for your kids. I just assume the numbers represent a subset of people who are regular moviegoers or something. Seriously, the last time I saw a movie in a theater was like, 2014 on a date, and prior to that it was '02 or earlier.

Not sure about that, I know a number of people who have gone (including myself), and I don't think most of them are regular moviegoers (I'm certainly not, it's been like like 6 years since the last time I can remember). Admittedly, I wouldn't have gone and would have waited for it to drop for free on the internet if someone hadn't talked about going, but even that isn't something that really happens to me normally
