First two questions are related to the Berserker subclass of the Barbarian class. I am trying to make sense of it.

1. Frenzy description says "your Rage turns into a frenzy as you release your unquenchable fury and bloodlust". What is Rage exactly? Looks like I can cast the ability at any point in combat so I think Rage might be irrelevant but I wanted to make sure anyway.

2. I would like to throw stuff as Berserker for damage but I am not sure what are some good things to chuck that I can pick up. Any suggestions for this? So far I have only thrown a mind flayer corpse but the range on that was not good.

The third question is about long rests.

3. Is there any downside to long rests? I was thinking we will turn into mind flayers if we take too long but I am not sure if that is the case.

Thanks.

Frenzy replaces rage which functions similarly to how it does in 5e. Frenzy also gives you a bonus action attack which is nice. Idk about a throw strat but more str = more yeet plus I found some gloves that helped with throwing things, so consider items to help your build. Long rests have been fine as far as not turning into a tentacle monster but I think there are some time sensitive things, like say if an NPC says "tomorrow I will do something" and you dick around for a few long rests the event might fire without you.

Thanks for the explainer. I get it now.

I think I've also found those gloves you are talking about which is why I am anxious to chuck some stuff around but I am not sure what kind of objects are usually thrown or if there is a meta for this at all.

Game is new so probably no meta yet. Just yeet anything. Bonus points for how funny it is. See if you can take the brawny feat, not sure if it's in the game or what it would do, but in 5e it doubles your carry weight so even more yeet.

Some weapons like hand axes and spears will have a "thrown" tag on them on their tool tip. There are also some barbarian builds that give bonuses or proficiency to using "improvised weapons" which is like throwing a chair, barrel, or crate at somebody.
