The hatred from people in the global south for their previous colonial occupiers is near universal, especially for the Fr*nch in North/West Africa. A worryingly large minority I've run into online & abroad are less skeptical of the US than I'd have hoped, as they're eager to ditch the Europeans and their interference and bullshit. Outside of the Americas, basically everywhere but India, people are pretty hopeful about Chinese investments. Even about things like "port takeovers", people on the ground seem aware that it's preferable to have PRC filling certain infrastructure roles rather than local collaborators giving US businesses covert control.
I wish there was something like Omegle that wasn't full of A) children and B) creeps preying on children. It would be neat to randomly find someone normal in the world to chat with for a while.
