First for, that’s Hexbear that’s known for that, not Lemmygrad. You aren’t bring told to “walk on eggshells” but rather respect other users about inappropriate jokes. I also think you are well aware of why your comment was a different line than the original post. The post is also marked as such whilst your comment isn’t spoiled

Yes someone pointed out that mistake already.

You'd have to click the original marked post to see mine, and mine was along the same lines, mocking the attitude in the image.

Your comment was not along the same lines. It was absolutely far more vulgar than the original post was. And it was directly at a comrade here rather than a general ridiculoness as this post was

It was absolutely far more vulgar than the original post was.

The comic is a rightist fever dream about incels being tankies.

The name of the comm is "shit reactionaries say".

Then I did my impression, which was the same incels/tankie strawman depicted in the comic.

            Where did I go wrong?

And it was directly at a comrade here rather than a general ridiculoness as this post was

A wordless comment of confusion is the perfect place to continue the bit without elaboration. How can that be personal?

Please don't let lemmy become like reddit where everything needs sarcasm tags.

I didn't catch that, but all the same is there some rule on either server that people have to cater their posts to be appropriate for children?

If so, wouldn't the original post be just as infringing?

There isn't a 'Cater to children' rule, no, but there is a blanket 'Be respectful to comrades' one. I'm unsure of if your replies necessarily cross that line (and I personally don't feel they do) but I haven't been here long enough to really get a sense for what is or isn't permissible.
