I never got that tagline, is it because "lighting up" has a second meaning relating to gun violence, and "light a __" means setting fire to something?

It's absolutely a send up of US gun culture lol.
I find it funny as a non-sequitur, an empty slogan typical of Democrats that sounds really nice but glosses over any of the obstacles
A similar statement might be: "If we can feed my pet cat—we can feed the world." Like what does that even mean, why are people cheering? It feels like a parody which is why I didn't realize it was fucking real for a long time lol.
Yeah "to light up" also means "to shoot". So it works on two levels: it's an empty platitude, and it is advocating for gun violence
