It really is horrifying. Here's another man made horror beyond comprehension to go along with that: in my senior year of high school I took an AP US government class. At one point the teacher took us all into the computer lab and had us take the political compass test. He told is it was an excellent tool to determine who we should vote for in the coming Democratic and Republican primaries that were more or less all scheduled for just after the majority of the class would turn 18.
He gave us all printed compass results labeled with all of the candidates. I can't remember much about what the specific layout that was in, but I'm certain it was incredibly unhinged as well as poisonous to our developing minds.
When they place the actual candidates on the compass they're usually not far off, even though they're doing it entirely on vibes:
Like they're way more honest about the Democratic candidates actual positions than you usually see lol.
The problem is that if you actually put those candidates beliefs through the test they wouldn't land where the creators of the test place them. Because the test is bad.
