Ahh I think I skimmed this one when it came out but I just watched it in full, lot of interesting stuff in there. That's especially cool about the "lost" piano counter melody and the americanification of the original more ambiguous chords/the real book stuff. Also I realized I didn't really know much about the history of bossa nova, like the apparently common derision of bossa nova as a whitening of samba, "a samba for cocktail sipping syncophants," when really it stemmed from Brazilian jazz musicians incorporating blues influence, blues being another style of music that like samba was cultivated by descendants of enslaved Africans.
