It wasn't a hostile discussion or anything, i didn't even go full "the kulaks deserved it" (although the mod that single-handedly banned me did go full "the kulaks did not deserve it"). I just laid out plainly and calmly that revolutions are inherently authoritarian, that Luxemburg said "the revolution will be as violent as the ruling class makes it necessary" and that there's one Trotzki quote i 100% agree with: "If the October Revolution hadn't succeeded, the world would have known a Russian word for fascism 10 years before Mussolini's March on Rome". Basically the whole "Jakarta Method" train of thought laid out clearly and without calling anybody names.

Note that this was on an explicitly left-leaning server that does not allow cops and troops to join. Also after several days of another poster starting destructive, aggressive bad faith arguments in the politics channel until a number of users went "disengage" on her and the channel had to be frozen until recently, when she immediately started being hostile and arguing in bad faith again, which got her not one, but two warnings from the same mod without further consequences. Meanwhile, when i defend AES without attacking anybody, that's apparently too much for her to handle. No advance warning, no "sis, you're talking to me as a mod here", not even a notification that i got banned.

The best part is that according to screenshots a friend just sent me, she's now completely going off about "authoritarians". The nerve some people have.

Sorry for posting pointless internet drama here, i just needed to vent.

We're talking about a person who literally got mad at a 17 year old girl in the discussion because she's interested in trotzkism - not for the reasons we dunk on trots, but because Trotzki was mean to the kulaks. What kind of person sees dekulakization as a reason to get mad at an underage trans girl just minding her business in her supposed safe space? A class traitor looking for an excuse to be a Neo-McCarthyist while still being able to do leftist clout chasing, that's who.

bizarre. i do know there are some that just enjoy taking these trans spaces and pushing their fringe view on them. ive come across very few liberal trans people in my time but when i do, its usually on internet spots where they try to force an ideology that is very unnatural to our community on everyone else (re: blahaj). in the meat world people are far nicer and the community is really a community, we have leftists of all sorts at our lgbt org and no one really gets in a fuss over it, we're there to hang out and help each other.

most people there are like that as well, but the ones that aren't of course become mods immediately and then start projecting about power hungry leninists and their authoritarian desire to purge people.

I once went on a date with another trans woman who went on a weird victim blaming rant about trans teens who are abused by their families "moving too fast instead of playing it smart" when I talked about the volunteer work I was doing with a support organization; I'm still ashamed that I didn't walk out then and there. She was a weirdo SAO fan too, and started texting me months later to argue about SAO.

I also once met a particularly infamous enby reddit lib who I won't give any further details of for opsec reasons at the local LGBT center.

Both of these people were US military stans too.

moving too fast instead of playing it smart

moving fast means you dont have to get stabbed in the face with an electric needle hundreds of times for thousands of dollars (for trans women), or surgeries to reverse the effects of hormones. shit is painful af i can attest, its worth it to get on it asap and its wild that anyone could think otherwise.

Yeah it was such a jaw droppingly vile take that I just shut down in bafflement. I wish I'd had the convictions I do now back then, but that was nearly a decade ago when I'd been on HRT for less than a year and was too meek to take a stand on anything.

Yeah that's why I want to get a lot of trans people on this site. Too many wide eyed trans people out there that need to be educated on how to protect themselves esp online
