SOMA is not a great video game, but as a tale of existential horror it's hard to beat.

It’s not very traditional in terms of gameplay but I think the interactive element enhances the story particularly the bit where

you jump from the og robot to the diving suit.

Idk something about having the agency to move around makes that hit a lot harder than it would be presented in a passive medium

Oh yeah as a walking sim it's fantastic. Just the hiding from monsters is tedious and boring. On the writing side I do wish Simon was less of an idiot and could contend with the philosophical side a bit better. He's just clueless the whole game.

          Yeah

          Spoiler

This made the whole "plot twist" at the end of the game kinda weak. Yeah no shit your consciousness won't be transferred to the ark. It's just a copy your "you" is still where it was before. WE HAVE BEEN THROUGH THIS MULTIPLE TIMES SIMON. YOU ALREADY DID IT TO YOURSELF ONCE. YOU INTERACTED (AND MAYBE KILLED) YOUR FORMER ROBOT YOU. HOW CAN YOU STILL NOT GRASP THIS CONCEPT?
