Holy shit did someone also read the post edit of the article ? Because I remember reading the article in the morning and I could swear this part was not there :

"Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas released a statement, saying"

    ...

"There is no humane world that can and should tolerate the murder of an innocent child because of his identity. The tragic events in the Middle East, begun by the brutal terrorist attacks by Hamas, have brought ideologies of hate to the fore across the world - notably antisemitism and Islamophobia. This must end. The diversity and inclusiveness that define America must prevail."

Fuck this people they are trying to do the "but hamas" thing over the body of dead a Muslim child in the US.

We're back in 2001 baby, murdering innocent Muslims is their fault for being Muslim again.

"The people living in concentration camps started it. Bigotry against Muslims and Jews is all their fault."

He's also implying that the way to end this bigotry is to complete the genocide against Palestine, since they're the ones to blame for creating and spreading this prejudice. How is it sensible to use the body of a Palestinian boy to advocate killing more Palestinians?

This is EXACTLY the same as bringing up "gangs" after a black child is lynched. Or bringing up "bankers" after a Jewish child is murdered.

It's just invoking a vague concept (in this case, "Hamas") that scares all the white people due to being "bad thing" and the only relation to the situation at hand is the race of the victim (and the frothing racism of the perpetrator). It's victim blaming.

Bringing up Hamas here is almost unbelievably racist, except that there is no level of racism I wouldn't believe from Homeland Security.

Yeah there are. But I’m more angry about the people who invited this violence onto their own population and have institutional support that results in the murder of a boy thousands of miles away.
