    My "hot take" is that I still despise the "unlimited genocide on the first world" meme. It strikes me as making genocide seem like some sort of joke. It's not. It's a crime against humanity.

      It's only ever half a joke to me. Sometimes when you see the crimes of the first world and the at best absolute apathy, at worst slavering delight the people here hold for it, the phrase rises up your throat like bile.

      Yeah, I think it also gives cover for a lot of reactionary behavior that shouldn't be allowed in a communist space. Liberal ideas such as "revenge" and other shit. You can see it a little in the Gaza conflict in which some hexbears reflexively defend unconfirmed war crimes instead of just saying "If that's true, the individuals should be punished but that doesn't invalidate the moral superiority of the Palestinian cause."

      Of course, most of these posters are also white westerners but I have to wonder, ya know?
