Here it is, the daily thread to share all things good and positive! So, as always:
Did you make strides in unionizing your work place recently?
Hear about a strike?
See a cool bug?
Help out a comrade?
If so, share it with us in the comments here! It doesn't matter big or small! This is a space to recharge and remind yourself what you're fighting for.
Comment anything here, as long as it's good vibes!
I'm on day 11 of my antidepressant which means full doses now instead of half, and it seems to be working. When I cry it makes me feel less sad afterwards now. And I'm starting to feel a bit more clarity in my thoughts.
The school I'm a grad student at is still on strike. Some faculty aren't on board, but some are, including a history professor who specializes in labour studies. He played a bit of banjo at the picket line yesterday.
"A" cool bug?
I saw thousands of them wiggling around on a live tree branch!
I saw a turkey vulture. It was during my lunch break, so I got to enjoy seeing it on my own. Just made me appreciate the world.
I've been thinking a lot about what feels like 'enough' for me. It gets overwhelming sometimes living in a society that demands productivity. I don't have enough by the standards of capitalism, but it was nice in that moment to know that in the grand scheme of things, in the world I want to help build, just seeing that freaky bird would be enough for me.
It's something I'd have liked as a kid, just seeing a wild animal doing its thing. It's nice to know that things can go back to that and it gave me a lot to reflect on as far as finding moments like that to make me happy again
I walked around the block a few times around sunset and smelt some flowers and some nice meals my neighbours were cooking, and listened to some music. It was pleasant.
Played football after a long time a d even if I was rudty I scored two goals
Come to think of it I can't really remember scoring a goal ever while playing with teams, but it's also largely because I was too scared to assert myself and go for it when I was in high school
