Where did this one come from? It's the most Reddit one I've seen yet, complete with gamer brain.

By the same poster - @imaqtpie. There's a gamer with a Wikipedia page with that name. Serious question - are they the same person? Or is the shit account just a fanboy account? I don't know anything about gaming.

They’re hexbear users. Don’t even waste your time, they are prejudiced and actively hostile towards anyone who isn’t on their server. They only seek to disrupt and mock any discussion that deviates from their incredibly naive and confused perception of human civilization.

Once you’ve crossed the line and started advocating for violence and genocide, it becomes emotionally impossible to accept that you might be wrong about anything, because that would inescapably mean that you’re actually a bad person. Thus, they reflexively go on the aggressive to proactively disrupt arguments that could potentially expose the contradictions inherent to their worldview.

There’s not much that can really be done to get through to these individuals, because their defense mechanisms are incredibly well developed and supplemented by the codependent echo chamber that they have built specifically to protect themselves from the undue discomfort of ever having to contemplate the possibility that, just maybe, they don’t have all the answers.

That being said, it’s a problem that will naturally disappate as Lemmy grows. The best way to combat their toxicity for the time being is to ignore/block them, imho. More than anything else, they are trying to convince themselves and each other of their righteousness. Their actions have repeatedly demonstrated that they consider users from other servers to be inferior (frequently to the extent of being subhuman) and thus they are not worthy of serious engagement.

I do enjoy analyzing the psychology behind it though, if you couldn’t tell

Not knowing anything - that's still what I assumed because @Eminem probably isn't actually Eminem either. If @Eminem exists.
