Holy shit everyone are we really going to do this again?

“The USA is bad but Vietnam clearly attacked first in the Gulf of Tonkin.”

“Afghanistan housed the terrorists that attacked us on 9/11 so it’s okay if the USA commits mass murder there for twenty years.”

“The USA isn’t perfect but Saddam was a bad guy…”

“I don’t know anything about Syria but that Bashar Assad guy gunned down all those protesters…”

“Ukraine might not be perfect but we need to support them against [extremely vaguely defined] Russian imperialism.”

“Hamas hates gay people so it’s okay if Israel exterminates millions of Palestinians.”

“Guyana, a country which I did not know to exist yesterday, is extremely important in the fight against Venezuelan imperialism, which I have never mentioned until now.”

The reality is: if the corporate media says a country is bad, all that means is that country isn’t doing what the US ruling class wants. Venezuela deserves our support in its fight against imperialism.

This US isn't involved in this conflict yet and I'd oppose their direct participation

Guyana, a country which I did not know to exist yesterday, is extremely important in the fight against Venezuelan imperialism, which I have never mentioned until now.”

I have not called what Venezuela is doing imperialism, I just think war is bad and should be avoided and nobody has made a good case to me yet why Venezuela absolutely MUST do this. Russia had far more justification for entering Donbas from where I'm sitting.

The land belongs to Venezuela but is claimed by Guyana, a US puppet state. It’s the same story every single time. Guyana was also doing oil exploration in this territory over protests from Venezuela. Since the corporate media is barely talking about this as far as I can tell, it looks like the US is already overextended in Ukraine and Israel and won’t be able to respond, which is probably another reason why Venezuela decided to go for it.
