Dang does this band kick. Formed by 4 women in a Wapping bathroom at a diy pink show in the early 80s, they played with Conflict, Icons of Filth, Antisect and various other filthy proto crust acts but are POPPY AS FUCK and have this thrown together fun attitude and humor which is hard to beat. They're incredibly accessible, check em out!

Hits include from first album: Idolization and Dressed to Kill (though the lyrics didn't age too great, not bad but not great). Second: One Bright Spark, Armchair Observer and what I consider their opus A Song of Deep Hate:

Sing a song of hatred if it's something you really do feel

Anger can be justified but first it has to be real

Basically they invented being a leftist punk band and not a giant bummer.

Here's a really full biography, this blog will give you a thorough tour of 80s anarcho punkin general, the write up are long and well done and researched.

Could be better, but it's also from 1982 and late teen early 20s women writing it so whatever:

Locally there was an all female punk band called The Vixens in the late 2000s early 2010s that covered this and sang it proudly instead of mockingly cause they were self branded as punk rockin', boot knockin', studded bra wearin' no fuck givers. HOWEVER, this band formed because the pink scene in the UK at the time was super boypilled snd also really angry and dark at all times and there was this lingering rock n roll groupie mentality sometimes that did need thwarting and 1982 teenagers maybe weren't ideal at expressing themselves and this applies to the genre across the board.
