      committing and defending genocide is basically the US calling card. the calling card of all empires I suppose.

      usually the tactic at the top is to just never talk about it. the situation in Gaza is so extremely horrific though that it's led to massive, non ignorable pushback so they're forced to not just pretend nothing is happening but engage with reality and defend the horrible actions
