imho Norm comes off as someone who puts effort into being non-political, mainly because he was dedicating his life to making anyone laugh and being political was a waste of energy for that goal, and that is functionally conservative because it defaults to "things are fine as they are now", but I refuse to let conservatives claim him because they will then ascribe their actively shitty and harmful ideas to him.
