There's definitely a reactionary element to it, I think it goes back to Hugh Hefner and Playboy. The whole "woman with small waist and large breasts" paradigm was pushed by that magazine to the total exclusion of all other body types, not that it wasn't something people aspired to before then but that was when it really became a cultural object. Since pretty much every liberal and progressive sexual movement since then has been at least partially about broadening the horizons of what should be considered sexually desirable, reactionaries are forced to double down on the original template, starting in the eighties with the obsession with breast implants and continuing today with stuff like this.
