    The tech bubble has burst, this kind of video based social media is no longer profitable for the tech companies, and the creators get shafted as a result. I think Twitch is also laying off a bunch of staff.

      I'm not sure this is entirely accurate. When talking about huge YouTubers who have been successfully making enormous sums, some have been big for over a decade, their revenues will hardly have dropped over time. If anything I'd argue they've made so much money that they now have the privilege to go pursue less profitable but more enjoyable occupations.
