    Not to be that guy but I think it's important to recognize twitter implying Malaysia executes ideological traitors seems to come from a place of xenophobic/Islamophobic/orientalist misinformation

    Like the IMC memes are funny, but Malaysia hasn't executed a single person since 2017, and before that only executed a handful of people for extreme stuff like murder. People talking out their ass like there must be "Sharia Law firing squads" or "public hangings" for political dissidents, meanwhile they've de facto suspended the death penalty since 2018, making them more progressive on capital punishment than the US

        Apparently his public support of the occupation is potentially punishable by sedition charges in Malaysia, the country in which he currently resides.

      Yeah this is the whole "North Korean official executed by mortar round!" bullshit just for a different Asian country. Apparently Asians are just barbaric and uncivilized and can't execute people in the civilized way - a lethal injection that lasts hours.
