    Am I reading this right...

    NYT posts sensational/false weaponized sexual violence article sometime between October-December.

    NYT is going to post a follow-up article, but faces crisis of either repeating false claims or downplaying how much sexual violence occurred, essentially admitting they lied earlier. This internal debate gets leaked to The Intercept

    NYT conducts "witch hunt" interviews of staff to find who leaked to The Intercept.

    That's how I read it. What I want to know, that this article didn't cover, is: where did the original bad reporting come from and why did it get published?
