I'm not implying it didn't happen, but I can't find any reference to Stan Kelly with respect to Palestine or Israel either on the broader web, or here on hexbear except for this comment by @Egon@hexbear.net a few days ago. There are some sparse google/duckduckgo results for Ward Sutton but they're behind a paywall. What did he say/draw? Has there been discourse about it?

I too saw that comment and I googled it and thought I remembered seeing something, but I don't anymore, may have hallucinated that then I guess, work is so fun

ok, I think I may have found the offending cartoon. It is under Ward Sutton and I had to archive a Boston Globe (ugh) article, but this is a pretty obvious shit take: https://archive.is/g3c2I

I wouldn't call it pro-Israel, but it is just a rehash of the insipidly ignorant "it's complicated" cliche, which now does carry water for the genocidaires. Personally, I think it's a forgivable take only given it was said right after Oct 7th when genuine ignorance on the issue was still possible. It's not possible anymore with the obvious evidence of genocide wide out in the open. I wonder if he still feels like it would be difficult to fit an appropriate slogan on the sign now.

Lmao. In all of those scenarios, Israel is at fault. Even the first panel, Israel is a contributing to the persecution because it’s not in its interest to encourage security for Jews in their home countries. They actively lobby for fascist policies and politicians who in return actively lobby for weapons and contracts with Israel. If the funding went towards anti fascism, Israel would be nothing more than a vacation destination.

And for the third panel, Israel has been using Hamas as part of their strategy of tension against other Palestinians. I’m not saying Hamas is controlled by Israel, but Israel has been documented by liberals of providing material support and looking the other way during insurgencies.

I'm not finding anything on Israel-Palestine but here's one where he runs defense for Biden.

That is pretty gross. Looks like he saves his shittiest takes for publishing under his real name.

I found the comic itself at the Boston Globe and already posted a link to it in this thread. I did search hexbear a fair amount and found the Biden one mentioned quite a bit, but not the other one. Obviously it's possible I just missed it or it got deleted when someone wiped their account or something. Doesn't matter, it's linked below and it is indeed disappointing garbage.
