You'd think libs would have stopped doing that by now
this time it's for real! their faith will be redeemed. [meme]
a verbal promise from Trump is useless
But does it come from him? My guess is that with all these nefarious people like project 2025 having hitched their wagon to trump, someone will be able to make some substantial promises on behalf of his future administration. 175 isn't too much, all it'd take is a few contracts, privatize this or this other thing and sell it to you for nothing, changes in obscure law that would favour the benefactor (no one will notice because they'll be freaking out about something batshit he said), appoint friends to positions, give your kid a job, invites to some parties, trump will speak at your church, those charges will get dropped don't worry about it, we won't release that information we have, we'll sort out that immigration situation for your cousin, etc.
Would they have bothered to do this appeal and get it taken down so much otherwise? I think if you're not going to be able to pay the reduced amount, keep it high because it'll be beneficial to the victim narrative. that said I have literally no idea regarding the actual legal stuff at play here. Only thinking of "the discourse".
Apparently all the judges were appointed by Cuomo or Hochul. And they gave no legal justification for their ruling. So - vote!
no one will notice because they'll be freaking out about something batshit he said
That's so easy to imagine. Trump as president will post "Shitty Old Joe Biden! He didn't even remember his dead loser son's name!" and the r/politics post gets 20k upvotes, 3,000 comments, and there are loads of unconvincing comments trying to explain away that it certainly did seem Biden forgot his son Beau's name. Also - post-election Biden certainly has been looking like total shit.
In other news - Ed Evil and EvilCorp saved $1 billion due to quid pro quo efforts of Trump and the GOOP. A post about that has 700 upvotes and 25 comments.
fair correction comrade
