I understand survivorship bias, I just meant life or death as in a high stress situation where you get a moment of clarity because your mind is entirely focused on the immediate situation. I don't necessarily think that's a psychic phenomenon, but more a testament to how the brain reacts when trying to survive.
People who made a bad guess in a life or death situatuon aren't usually able to tell us about it.
