It looks like Meta is doing another innovation, where they don't give a fuck and show ads to millions of fake users who are doing obviously fake AI posts and to millions of obviously fake AI repliers to those fake AI posts, then charge the advertisers for those ads and laugh all the way to the bank.

Has been for at least 18 months according to the internal white papers of the ad agencies that forgot to revoke my email subscriptions.

Was there some sort of major pivot in that timeframe?

I mean...its just a combination of AI and the already bot ridden race to the bottom of digital marketing. Everyone is just trying to stop their clients from realising their ads have no effect unless they're a major brand that can afford the big bucks.

Every major ad serving platform is provably lying on their stats and the ad agencies are double lying.

        Here's some stats

88% of ad interactions are by bots, after anti bot measures are taken into account

Almost all advertising (>98%) online outside of product placement with influencers has 0 effect on sales.

Those advertising efforts that do have effects are either a)remarketing or b)entirely within major established brands.

This is true over almost all industries and in both b2c and b2b verticals, physical, ecom, and SaSS.
