The fact that the original elections were cancelled for a completely fake reason didn't even register in the "pro-democracy" West. Basically, the pro-EU and pro-NATO party that is currently in power ran a social media campaign with some shady financing and this was spun as the opposition candidate Georgescu cheating with the help of Russia and used to steal the election from Georgescu. Even if it was Georgescu running that social media campaign and not the pro-EU government, that still wouldn't be an excuse to cancel an election, it is not like someone faked the votes or hacked into the voting machines.
