      But thats how Xinjiang always was. China didn't level any buildings there and rebuild it. I know you're trying to play devils advocate here but thats a counter argument you can just discard.

      Western style suburbs like the rest of Israel, and definitely not anything resembling traditional Palestinian architecture. The building in the Xinjiang picture is in a traditional-ish architecture style for the region.
