Gaza has the world's attention at the moment, both due to the active genocide and the response of the world's most well-funded military to the active genocide, and because of that scrutiny a lot of people are reconsidering long-held positions on the subject.
By and large most people are content to just busy themselves with their daily concerns without looking at larger contexts if they don't have to or simply can't afford to spare that attention, but it's a lot harder to look away now.
