I'm not white, but also not from the Middle East and not from the US and still received plenty of death threats and the police/security stopping me at random. The worst was receiving a dead animal in the mail with a letter saying "GET OUT OF OUR COUNTRY". Also there was the mass kidnappings/arrests for which some people are still in jail for without evidence. I guess I've just assumed this is already the norm now.
