Just wanted to share a thread for those who don't regularly venture out of the bear site. Can't cross-post since it's defederated. It's small but has some numbers about community counts, active users, etc and links to more info from https://lemmyverse.net/. Thought it was notable that Hexbear shows up no matter how you sort it.

OP image is community count sorted by active users in the last month.

I've tried a bunch of fediverse Lemmy clones. My favorite was kbin.social from June 23. It got progressively worse as the socialist gays were defederated... Now it's hexbear and beehaw. It's funny how when you encourage people that believe in respect for one another to interact you get nice vibrant communities. It was also funny seeing the defederation of hexbear from the other side. How immediately after the quality of the community dropped significantly

the libs reap what they sow. when they say "every hexbear user I interact with is a freaking troll!" what they are actually saying is that they were attempting to be glib and trolling and got shutdown.

Any user, no matter how lib, who has come in with good faith and an open mind and genuinely asked questions has never been shit on. If you're getting shit on by us it's because you're asserting really stupid libshit very confidently and refusing to back down. They get into hot tempered arguments and then cannot take the heat and run away to bad mouth us.

I originally found lemmy.ml a couple years back.. then the reddit thing happened and I thought all was lost, but then I found lemmygrad.ml and most of the posts were from hexbear folk so now this is where I live online and no one best fuck it up coz I'm real tired of moving and I'm finally unpacking my boxes
