Hello users of hexbear, we have started discussions with an admin of lemmy.ca regarding potential refederation. Lemmy.ca had added hexbear to their blocklist about a year ago: https://lemmy.ca/post/3326347

With the recent changes in lemmy features as well as a maturing fediverse the mods/admins of hexbear and lemmy.ca are open to trying again, but before we put lemmy.ca on our allow-list we wanted to open up discussion and voting to the users of hexbear.

This vote will be binding with regard to adding lemmy.ca to our allow-list. In addition, the idea of including sh.itjust.works in this discussion was raised but was voted down by a majority of mods from inclusion.

https://lemmy.ca/c/canada and https://lemmy.ca/c/pcgaming are the instance's top two communities but there are a few other small, niche communities. A community that may be removed from hexbear is the https://lemmy.ca/c/fediverselore so please indicate your opinion on this community if you have one.

        I don't know, personally I'm still going to hate on Banderites and if someone were to whine about that I might respond with ppb (or the Hitler particles detected emoji, emojis have come such a long way!).

        I also think that most people here just want landlord's properties expropriated from them, that when someone is being seriously fucked with by their landlord, you can't expect them not to start joking about guillotines or whatever.

        Unless lemmy.ca can compromise here we're just gonna defed again right?

          Reading their year-iold discussion about defedding, and honestly what they did to themselves arguing about us was much, much worse than anything we did to them. Smdh someone tried to drag roman law in as some kind of justification for the ethics of land lordism!

        honestly idk about refederation with these people. im sure there are nice people there but if some of them are just going to keep complaining about ppb and russia and acting in bad faith then id rather pass

            I've had a lot of fun trolling people IRL here in kkkanada who defend Israel's "self defence" by demanding that Canada be returned to the control of the descendents of those who lived within its modern borders 2000 years ago.
