Amazing how quickly AI images have gone from "wow, that's impressive!" to "oh, it's another one of those"

Year after year I have to keep getting told (previously in person, now by computer touchers online, including here) how this is "changing everything" and "things are about to get really interesting" in smug pretentiously prophetic tones.

Yeah it's changing everything all right, but in pretty much all bad ways that are burning the planet down even faster and those thinly masked cravings for a holo-waifu that unconditionally loves them are a poor justification for this shit.

Ten years ago, if you told me technology would advance so much you can easily create a picture just by explaining it. I’d think that would be super cool.

Now I just roll my eyes at every AI image. It doesn’t help when hogs for whatever ungodly reason insist on cramming it down everyone’s throats. Every little thought they have they need to prompt an AI image of it and force it in any conversation. Like a little kid saying “look what I can do!” I’m guessing they think AI inherently owns the libs or something.

Even the apologia/excuses/"u r Luddite" defenses of the fucking things are getting repetitive and tedious. It's almost always "you must be a frightened dandelion eating hippie/peasant if you have any objections to this particular Mechanical Turk." smuglord

It's bizarre to think these were the same people calling stem-cell research an affront to God 20 years ago.

Something tells me that if you faked being a Christian and told them that their fake AI pornography was sinful (let's be honest, these types have weird pregnancy fetishes and also make this crap to get off to it.), they'd totally ignore you.

I think a lot of chuds get off to exclusivity in particular. They want things to feel shameful and wrong but also have access to them as insiders with secret stashes and parties and such, "Eyes Wide Shut" style. Even outside of sexual pathology, I don't think most affluent fundie chuds have the slightest hesitation getting abortions outside of their fundie-land territories when convenient, and I'm pretty sure the upper echelon of them also don't hesitate to indulge in whatever life extension technology is available (including quackery or dubious methods). The forbiddenness is the point.
